Winfax Merger is a very straightforward utility with only one objective, to merge separate Winfax files into one. The program takes the original FXD, FXR, or FXS fax files and combines them into a single multiple-page FXM fax file. Operation is easy: choose whether you want to use the easy GUI or the command line function, enter your original fax directory and your destination directory, and merge.
The ability to keep the original file dates is a nice touch, but the obvious spelling mistake in the interface 'Keep Hiberarchy', instead of 'Keep Hierarchy' was disconcerting! The GUI does give you the option to enable auto merging at the default interval of sixty seconds, which you can set yourself, but I would not recommend this feature as it might get very resource intensive.
After merging, the program gives a progress report /error log, although it did not create any errors while testing it. Winfax Merger executes its prime directive very well, but could do with some user friendly upgrades, like not having to enter the fax directory information every time you open the programs.
